Lyke Nota is een jonge, sprankelende en gepassioneerde violiste. Ze haalt de meeste vreugde uit het geven van concerten en het maken van verbinding met het publiek.
Dit doet ze momenteel in verschillende formaties: als soliste, in strijkkwartet en binnen diverse symfonieorkesten. Lyke is ontzettend dankbaar dat ze mag spelen op een prachtige viool, gebouwd door Hendrik Woldring.
Lyke groeide op in een zeer muzikaal gezin en was van jongs af aan omringd door allerlei muziekinstrumenten. Op vierjarige leeftijd koos ze voor de viool en begon ze lessen bij Josien le Coultre. In 2018 vervolgde ze haar opleiding bij Veselina Manikova, bij wie ze ook lessen volgde in de Jong Talentklas en het Voorbereidend Jaar aan het Prins Claus Conservatorium.
Momenteel studeert Lyke voor haar bachelor aan het Koninklijk Conservatorium in Den Haag, onder begeleiding van violiste Arisa Fujita.
Naast haar studie nam Lyke deel aan verschillende concoursen, waaronder het Prinses Christina Concours en het International Festival Competition ‘Stars of Olympus’, waar zij meerdere prijzen won. Ze was actief op vele festivals, waaronder Musique de Chambre en Normandie, Città Alta Chamber Music Week, Jeunesses Musicales International Chamber Music Campus Weikersheim en het Aurora Festival. Tijdens het Aurora festival in 2022 ontving ze de Vrienden van het Prins Claus Conservatorium Prijs. Ze volgde masterclasses bij onder anderen David Takeno, Joseph Puglia, Moshe Hammer, Ilona Si Dhian Ho en Janet Krause.
Zes jaar lang speelde Lyke in het Haydn Jeugd Strijkorkest, waar zij in de loop der jaren optrad als tutti-violist, concertmeester en soliste, zowel in Nederland als in andere Europese landen. Tegenwoordig geniet ze van het symfonisch repertoire: ze is lid van het Nationaal Jeugdorkest (NJO) en speelde daarnaast in projecten onder leiding van Jac van Steen en Ivan Meylemans.
Kamermuziek – en dan vooral het strijkkwartet – is een van Lyke’s grootste passies. Ze is medeoprichter van het Silhouet Kwartet, dat sinds 2021 optreedt in binnen- en buitenland. Het kwartet ontvangt intensieve coaching van het gerenommeerde Cuarteto Casals en volgde daarnaast masterclasses bij onder meer het Artemis Quartett en het Ruysdael Kwartet. Sinds 2025 is het kwartet lid van de Nederlandse Strijkkwartet Academie (NSKA). Dit jonge en ambitieuze ensemble trad onder meer op tijdens festivals als het Emmy Verhey Festival en het Aurora Festival. Op dit moment volgt het kwartet de minor kamermuziek aan het Koninklijk Conservatorium onder begeleiding van Janet Krause.

Lyke Nota is a young, vibrant, and passionate violinist who finds her greatest joy in performing and connecting with audiences. She currently does so in various settings: as a soloist, in a string quartet, and within symphonic orchestras. Lyke is grateful to play a beautiful violin crafted by Hendrik Woldring.
Growing up in a highly musical family, Lyke was surrounded by instruments from an early age. At the age of four, she chose the violin as her instrument and began lessons with Josien le Coultre. In 2018, she continued her studies with Veselina Manikova, with whom she also studied in the Young Talent Class and the Preparatory Year at the Prince Claus Conservatoire. She is currently pursuing her bachelor’s degree at the Royal Conservatoire in The Hague, under the guidance of violinist Arisa Fujita.
Alongside her studies, Lyke has participated in several competitions, including the Princess Christina Competition and the International Festival Competition ‘Stars of Olympus’, where she received multiple prizes. She has also taken part in numerous festivals such as Musique de Chambre en Normandie, Città Alta Chamber Music Week, Jeunesses Musicales International Chamber Music Campus Weikersheim, and the Aurora Festival. During the Aurora festival in 2022 Lyke was awarded with the Friends of the Prins Claus Conservatory Price. Lyke has received masterclasses from distinguished teachers including David Takeno, Joseph Puglia, Moshe Hammer, Ilona Si Dhian Ho, and Janet Krause.
For six years, Lyke was a member of the Haydn Youth String Orchestra, where she gained experience as a tutti violinist, concertmaster, and soloist, performing both in the Netherlands and across Europe. She continues to enjoy the symphonic repertoire and is currently a member of the National Youth Orchestra of the Netherlands, having played in projects under the baton of Jac van Steen and Ivan Meylemans.
Chamber music—especially string quartet playing—is one of Lyke’s deepest passions. She is a founding member of the Silhouet Quartet, which has been performing in the Netherlands and abroad since 2021. The quartet receives intensive coaching from the renowned Cuarteto Casals and has participated in masterclasses with ensembles such as the Artemis Quartet and the Ruysdael Quartet. Since 2025, the quartet has been a member of the Dutch String Quartet Academy (NSKA). This young and ambitious ensemble has performed at various festivals including the Emmy Verhey Festival and the Aurora Festival. Currently, the quartet is pursuing the chamber music minor at the Royal Conservatoire in The Hague under the guidance of Janet Krause
